This June Avery WePrint released the results of their recent survey regarding the excitement and fear of growing a small business.
The decision to grow your business is not one that can be taken lightly, as the survey results showed.
Small Business Growth Highs
60% said they felt excited at the prospect of growth, and 40% said pride was a significant emotion. 56% said that they were happy with their decisions around the growth of their business, and 25% said the period of growth had given them the opportunity to improve their customer service.
Growth Points of Interest
The most popular time to grow was reported at between 1-2 years, with 44.6% saying that the launch of a new product was what prompted their growth; followed by taking on more staff.
Small Business Growth Lows
40% said that the thought of growing their business made them feel nervous and that their greatest fears were failure and the loss of money. They reported that the hardest part of making the decision to grow was the financial strain they felt growth put them under, and a huge 90% said they found the process stressful.
However, despite these worries; stresses and concerns, 82.9% said that they had no regrets since they took the decision to grow and 43.1% said the stress had been worth it.
